What Is PrideChat?

PrideChat is a free LGBTQ+ messaging and community app designed to help you meet people nearby — whether you are looking for friendships, dates, or community. Available on both iPhone and Android, PrideChat puts real connections first. There are no paywalls blocking core features, no forced advertisements interrupting your conversations, and no algorithm gaming your attention. Just a straightforward way to browse profiles, match with people who interest you, and start chatting.

Built with the LGBTQ+ community in mind, PrideChat supports three languages — English, Thai, and Khmer — making it accessible across Southeast Asia and beyond. The app is operated by Confidia Limited and built on a simple philosophy: the best connections happen when the app gets out of the way.

How PrideChat Works

PrideChat is built around three core actions — browse, match, and chat. Here is how each one works.

Browse Profiles Near You

When you open PrideChat, the Discover tab shows you a grid of profiles from people in your area. Each profile card displays a photo, name, age, and distance, so you get an instant sense of who is nearby. Tap any profile to open the full view — you will see their photo gallery, bio, and other details they have chosen to share.

The Discover grid uses your device GPS to surface people genuinely close to you. You control how far to search with a distance radius slider, and you can filter by age range and gender preference. Whether you are looking to meet someone in your neighbourhood or across town, you decide who appears in your grid.

New people join all the time, so the Discover tab stays fresh. And if you ever want a break from being visible, you can hide your own profile from the grid while keeping your existing matches and conversations intact.

Like, Match, and Connect

When you see someone who catches your eye, send a Like by tapping the heart button. The Like is private — nobody knows you liked them unless they like you back. If you are not interested, simply move on to the next profile.

Changed your mind? PrideChat includes a Rewind feature that lets you undo a pass and revisit a profile you skipped. You can also browse your full history of passed profiles anytime.

When the interest is mutual — you like them, they like you — PrideChat celebrates with the "It's a Match!" screen. This opens a private conversation between the two of you instantly. Matches are mutual by design, so no one can message you without your interest, and you cannot message anyone who has not shown interest in return.

Chat Freely with Text and Photos

Once you are matched, PrideChat's chat screen gives you real-time messaging with both text and photo sharing. Send messages that arrive instantly. Share photos directly in the chat — no external links, no third-party uploads. If you are coordinating plans to meet, you can share your location in the conversation too, on your own terms.

Chat notifications arrive via push — you will know the moment a new message comes in, even when the app is in the background. All your conversations live in the Conversations tab, and all your matches are organised in the Matches tab.

Privacy and Safety Built In

PrideChat takes your privacy seriously. We do NOT sell your data to third parties. We do NOT monitor your private conversations. One-on-one chats are between you and the person you are talking to — they are never read, scanned, or analysed by PrideChat.

Every profile in the Discover grid represents a real person. Block anyone instantly with a single tap, and they will disappear from your grid and cannot contact you. If anything feels off, report a user directly from their profile. PrideChat reviews every report manually.

You can hide your own profile from the Discover grid at any time, while keeping all your existing conversations and matches intact. Your location is only used to surface nearby profiles — your exact position is never shared publicly.
